Finally. A Pinterest Challenge.

In September, or something, Jennifer posted a "Pinterest Challenge" and was generous enough to invite me to join Pinterest, and several things happened almost simultaneously:
1) I was hooked like a bass on a clacker.
2) I found a kabillion links to projects that could really make life better and less accidental and more design.
3) I (or somebody) HAVE LOST MY FREAKING CAMERA CABLE!!!

Yesterday, I was in Target and had the camera in my purse.  I thought I would ask the guy if they sold replacement cables.  He was such a throwback.  Now techies are supposed to be the cool guys.  He was the helpful guy.  He was the knowledgeable guy.  He was the friendly guy.  He was not at all cool.  He reminded me of me.

I digress.

They might sell a replacement cable.  I don't know.  What they do sell is a "secure digital card reader/writer".  It's like a stick drive that you put the camera's SB card into and plug into the usb port.  Obviously.  This technology would exist.  It's cheap.

Problem solved.  And I am hoping, it also flushes out the missing cable.  This is how my life is.

I digress.

I have been dying to participate in the Pinterest Challenge with Julie @ Dutch Being Me.  I have so many ideas pinned, that if I didn't pin one new thing, I could make it through the challenge with one new idea a week.

I chose this last week to make Chunky Apple Cake.  It's a recipe found at Taste of Home that I pinned myself.

The ingredients are staples.

Apples are gloriously in season, or use ones that have gotten a little too soft to eat out of hand.

Mix stuff.

Around.
It is going to be super thick.  You will think, as I do every single time, "This doesn't seem right."  It is right.  It will look a little like this.

...and this.

Going into the oven.

Yes, that hand is headed toward my mouth.  Is that a problem?

At the appointed time, it wasn't quite done enough, so I returned it to the oven.

This upside down cake is properly baked.

In the interest of full disclosure, this is I have never made the butterscotch sauce that is included with the recipe.  We haven't missed it.  I did have a little heavy cream once...  But that made it PG-13.  Seriously.

Are you on Pinterest, yet?  If you are interested, let me know and I will invite you.

Yum! I've never been one to make apple recipes, because they seem so involved. But I love to eat them!!
